About Kalin Monet

Let me introduce myself; my name is Kalin Monet Brown, a self-taught artist and designer, as well as a devoted mother to a baby boy and pet mom to two cats. After earning my degree in Architectural Technology from NYIT in 2015, I rediscovered my passion for painting. This rekindling of creativity felt like a return to childhood wonder, but now with a deeper purpose: to create art that resonates emotionally and shares a message of healing. My artistic journey has taken me from setting up an easel and selling stenciled paintings in Union Square, NYC, to exhibiting my work in numerous shows across New York and Massachusetts. I’ve been featured on Massachusetts UCTV’s “Be My Guest” and in articles such as Meaghan J. Meehan’s piece on HVY, celebrating my curated collaborative exhibition, “Into the Art,” which brought together over 20 artists, performers, and musicians. Since 2020, I’ve expanded my creative endeavors into handmade home decor and jewelry, with one of my pieces being published in Belle Amoire Jewelry’s Autumn Issue. Although I’ve since moved away from jewelry, this exploration has influenced some of my more recent works leading up to my first solo exhibition in March 2024. This exhibition, called Lunar Echoes, hosted at the Bronxville Women's Club marked a significant milestone in my artistic journey as it acted as a end of a era. Just as the Moon phases cycle through and restart, so did my artistic expression in deeper, more complex emotion. My art more so now than ever focuses on emotional affirmation and the journey of healing, combining elements of both fact and fiction to explore themes from nature to the cosmos. Each piece is rich in symbolism, aiming to provide emotional validation and foster community through shared experiences. My commitment to creating continues to evolve with my personal life and the stories of others, leading to fresh bodies of work and a continual growth in my artistic practice. I am thrilled to share this evolving journey with you.
